About Daniel Ference, MA LCPC

Daniel Ference, MA LCPC

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and member of the American Counseling Association, I have experience working with depression, anxiety, addiction and recovery, stress and anger management, couples' concerns, grief and loss, and adjustment issues related to everyday life challenges. I received my Masters degree from Concordia University Chicago, and I have been working for more than 10 years with adults and teens from all backgrounds in individual, couples, and group settings.

My therapeutic approach is best described as collaborative. Together, clients and I explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and work to build upon client strengths and empower individuals to overcome whatever challenge is present. Most importantly, our work begins with establishing a trusting relationship so as to provide a compassionate, safe, and supportive environment for personal exploration.

My practice is guided primary by the principles of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), though I am also trained in and utilize tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the Gottman Method for relationship issues, and solution-focused techniques targeting specific concerns. However, I understand that each client is unique, and always seek to utilize approaches that are best tailored to a specific client's needs.
